We humans may not have flying cars quite yet, but the bird kingdom just made a huge aeronautical leap. This trailblazing house sparrow has given up the traditional method of flapping his wings to fly in exchange for simply hovering in midair. Hoverbirb!
This astonishing footage was captured by Al Brooks using his home security camera. And, before you get too excited, the hovering effect was achieved by syncing the frame rate of the camera with the rate at which the bird flapped his wings, making it appear as though the clever birb wasn’t flapping at all.
