Today the Department of Extraordinary Embroidery is delighted to get share new work by textile artist Yumi Okita (previously featured here), who continues to use he skill with a needle and thread, wire, faux fur, and feathers to create oversized soft sculptures of moths, butterflies, and cicadas that look like they’re about to flutter and fly away.
