Guys, there’s a hot new meme, and it’s so fresh and dank it doesn’t even have a name yet. Some are calling this guy opening a door the “Persuadable Bouncer”, but until the internet hands down this official title, I’m calling it “Meme Bouncer”, because I like that better. This meme started getting popular on Reddit’s /r/me_irl this week, following the huge success of this post:
It’s a similar format to older memes like the All Right Gentlemen meme or Twitter’s Upgrade meme, where an uncool version of something is rejected, but a cool version accepted. However, this particular meme went meta almost immediately. Do people think this a legitimately funny idea, or is the love for this doorman an ironic commentary on how lame meme humor is? Is it both? Check out our favorite examples, and decide for yourself!
Warning, one of these has a spoiler for the last season of Game of Thrones.
If you know the name for this thing, or know more about the origins, let me know on Twitter. We have to get to the bottom of this!
