Okay, those are cute, I guess. But a quarter million people need this on a daily basis?! What am I missing? I mean, I love garlic bread and memes are aiiiight, but I would never follow this page. I never would’ve even heard of this page if it hadn’t posted this “transphobic” image:
Of course people found the meme controversial. One person pretty much predicted the incoming sh*tstorm:
And said sh*tstorm soon rolled in, with Facebook fans the internet over calling the meme transphobic:
Some tried to keep things light-hearted, since, after all, we are talking garlic bread memes here:
But when the controversy hit Reddit, it became a full on battle between Redditors and SJWs (that’s the Redactor’s term — CALM DOWN!) The interesting thing is, this particular garlic bread meme wasn’t an accident or bad judgment — the guy who runs the page, Boaz, intentionally posted it to create controversy! Fusion uncovered some texts between Boaz and his admins revealing the dust-up was planned from the get go.
The meme is still up and if you want to do some light reading, the comments on it are a doozy. What say you? Do you still want to live on this planet? Or nah? Let us know on Twitter @Smosh!
