The Department of Wondrous Woodworking loves these cartoonish hand-carved wooden characters created by Taiwanese artist Yen Jui-Lin. Each sculpture is one-of-a-kind and, in addition to being whimsical and cute, some of them are functional objects such as flower vases or key hooks.

Jui-Lin co-designs these playful creatures with his two kids, to whom he later gives them as gifts.
