When it comes to Singlish, not all noobs will ace it like Orange is the New Black actress, Uzo Aduba, did on her first try.

On Saturday, a video of the cast of hit musical Les Misérables, which is currently running in Singapore, being tested on Singlish was posted on its Facebook page.

The two-and-a-half minute video showed how much the thespians struggled with pronouncing and deducing the meanings of common words and phrases, which are a mix of Chinese and Malay loanwords with English. 

But we couldn’t get mad at them for butchering Singapore’s Creole, especially when they tried their best to get them right. Read more…
