The tale of the tortoise beating a hare in a race is a tale as old as time, and it goes as follows: a fast and cocky hare races a slow-and-steady yet determined turtle and loses, because the hare’s ego leads him to taking breaks and allowing himself to be distracted in his goal. While it’s a sweet and sensible lesson to teach as a fable, it’s also a story that doesn’t seem like it would hold up in reality.
As you can see in this real life race, it’s finally been real life settled — slow and steady really does win the race! And a determined tortoise (turtle?) is better than a distracted hare (rabbit?) every time! So the next time you feel “behind” in comparison to your friends who are always doing a bunch of different stuff at a million miles a minute, just remember — where there’s a will, there is a way (to beat those who have more talent/ability/genetic gifts than you).
