The 8 Types of Youtube Commenters

YouTube is a space for people to vehemently express their opinions and make others laugh. Oh, and there’s the people who post videos. Oftentimes, the YouTube comments are just as entertaining as the video they’re under. And so, here are the eight types of YouTube commenters.

1. The Quoter

This comment often has the most likes — not because it’s original, ingenious, or contributed to the dialogue in a useful way. It’s just a damn callback. And people love callbacks.

2. The Who’s Watching-er

In the good ole days, these folks only commented on Britney Spears music videos from 2003. Now, they’re posting HILARIOUS comments all over the place asking who’s watching in 2020. It NEVER gets old.

3. The Hawk-Eye Timer

With vigilante eye and finger always at-the-ready on the play/pause button, this person doesn’t let anything escape them.

4. The Rotten Tomato

This person takes it on themselves to dissect the video and find deeper meaning beyond “lolz” or “stupid”.

5. The Questioner

Inevitably, someone will comment with a burning question that could’ve been easily answered by a simple Google search. (PS, this comment was taken from Noah Cyrus’ new music video.)

6. The Supporter

While you may be tempted to subscribe to their channel and toss them a few likes, once you see the exact same comment on every Taylor Swift music video, you realize IT WAS ALL A LIE.

7. The Requester

The Requester unabashedly asks the YouTuber to make a specific video. We find it a bit presumptuous but hey, what do we know.

8. The Troll/ Hater/ Meany-Butt

We don’t even want to post a mean Youtube comment — there are too many of them in the world. Don’t give them the time of day!
