Shower to the People, A Mobile Unit That Provides Free Showers For the Homeless in St. Louis

Shower to the People (“STTP“) is a mobile shower truck that provides free, hot showers to those in need of such in the St. Louis, Missouri area. The people involved in this venture believe that a hot shower can help people feel better about themselves no matter what their circumstances may be. While the organization itself is religious, the provided services are not reliant upon any distinction. In addition to the showers, STTP runs a soap making business that provides part-time employment to some of their clients and a community program that keeps people looking out for one another.

Our flagship program is a Mobile Shower Truck that provides hygiene services and hot showers to the local homeless population of St. Louis. Every week we’ll be visiting multiple locations across the greater St. Louis area, creating easy access for those in our community who would otherwise have no opportunity to stay clean. … Raise The Bar is our Social Enterprise. Through Raise The Bar we provide part time employment to qualifying candidates that have previously experienced homelessness. The soap made by those employed through Raise The Bar is sold to keep the program sustainably funded, and given out free of charge to our friends and neighbors on the streets. … Shower To The People recognizes that communities are more successful when they work together. Through building strategic partnerships with our city’s homeless service providers, we effectively connect those in need with relevant services.
