The evolution of Shia LaBeouf is one of the more curious celebrity stories over the past couple of decades. Rising to fame on the Disney Channel show Even Stevens, LaBeouf’s character Louis earned him a Daytime Emmy Award. He followed that up with his film debut in 2003, taking the lead role in the film adaptation of Louis Sachar’s novel Holes.
Nowadays, Shia LaBeouf is better known as Sam Witwicky from the first three Transformers films, or from that really weird “motivational” video where he screamed “just do it!” in front of a green screen for 64 seconds.
Shia Labeouf made the transition from promising child actor to bona fide movie star in 2007. He starred in the first of three Transformers movies, which were a commercial success across the world, before going on to star in Disturbia and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. From there, though, Shia LaBeouf’s life took a bit of an odd turn.
In 2005, Shia LaBeouf was arrested in Los Angeles and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, after he allegedly threatened his neighbour with a kitchen knife. Since then, LaBeouf has been arrested a further five times, the most recent being in 2014 for criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct. Shia LaBeouf also faced heavy criticism for plagiarising other writers in his brief ventures into filmmaking.
Recently, performance art has become of the more prominent aspects of Shia LaBeouf’s career, so it comes as no surprise that Shia LaBeouf has yet another project in the offing for the year 2017. Like most of his artistic offerings in the past, though, this one is pretty weird.
