A study suggests that the black hole was effectively served an astronomical eviction notice by the gravitational waves of its galaxy.

“We estimate that it took the equivalent energy of 100 million supernovae exploding simultaneously to jettison the black hole,” stated Stefano Bianchi of Italy’s Roma Tre University, who coauthored the study which made the finding.
