New Delhi-based designer Nasheet Shadani collaborated with the Taxi Fabric project to turn one of the city’s countless auto rickshaw taxis into a vibrant and immersive art experience. Taxi Fabric is an ongoing project that showcases the work of local artists and designers while beautifying some of India’s numerous taxis. Shadani’s design is a dazzling combination of van Gogh’s post-impressionist style with local landmarks.
Shadani channeled the iconic Starry Night painting into the backdrop of his illustration, which also features Humayun’s Tomb standing in the foreground among swirling strokes of blue, pink, and yellow hues. “Drawing inspiration from Delhi’s rich history and Mughal heritage,” he explains, “I believe that it encompasses the true spirit of Delhi.”
