Once a week, the Tony Award-winning Hamilton takes a break from its online ticket lottery and gives fans outside of the theatre a chance to win.
That would be reason enough to stand in line, but people also get a short performance, labeled #Ham4Ham. Lin-Manuel Miranda introduced Wednesday’s show with a touching speech about the Orlando shooting.
“We had a horrific tragedy on Sunday morning, and a lot of people are asking how they can help,” Miranda said.
He said that he emailed Tom Viola, executive director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, to find out how Hamilton fans could contribute to relief efforts. Read more…
