Johnny Depp is in the midst of a bitter dispute with his ex-management team, The Management Group, and suffice to say it’s getting uglier and uglier by the day. The legendary actor had recently enjoyed some positive PR (seemingly for the first time in months) after footage emerged of him in character as his famous creation Captain Jack Sparrow. Depp could be seen enchanting fans at a Disney Land resort, by regaling them with the typical braggadocio and bombast associated with the swashbuckling pirate.
On the whole, though, it has been a testing period for the 53-year-old star, who has endured a messy divorce from fellow movie star Amber Heard on top of his financial grappling with The Management Group, who have made some astonishing allegations over his spending in a counter-suit against the star.
The counter-suit suggests that Depp’s financial strife was a result of a $2million-a-month lifestyle, which includes employing a staff of 40, spending $4 million (£3.2 million) on a failed record label and $18 million (£14.3 million) on a 150-foot yacht. Among their claims over Depp’s spending, the group allege that the star was spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in a bid to never have to learn lines for his movie roles.
