It’s Friday! And we’re celebrating by watching John Shaw, principle percussionist in the Florida Orchestra, surprise the audience as well as his fellow musicians with an awesome and completely unexpected triangle solo during a performance of Edvard Grieg’s “In the Hall of the Mountain King.” The only person in on the stunt, which was a reference to a Geico ad, was conductor Stuart Malina who used Shaw’s antics to promote subscription memberships to the orchestra:
