Is Legendary Pokémon Articuno in 'Pokémon Go'? No, But… It Was? WHAT IS GOING ON?

In almost every film noire, the detective is pulled into a case that seems simple, but is deeper and more mysterious than they imagined. And that’s how I feel today looking into reports that Articuno may have been found in Pokémon Go.

This is the Zapruder film of mobile AR games.

It all started with a post in a Pokémon Go Facebook group, where one user claimed to have found the Legendary Pokémon in a Dayton, Ohio-area Gym. According to Pokémon Go player Kaitlyn Covery, developer Niantic Labs sent her the Legendary Pokémon as one of those customer service apologies, like when Chipotle gives you free chips and guac because your burrito was rolled asymmetrically.

But Niantic says they didn’t send out the Articuno, calling it either a fake or an exploit. And when asked for evidence of Niantic’s involvement, Covery posted a picture of an email from the developers… with a typo:

pokemon go email
And we’re supposed to believe this is from a professional? Professionals never mkae typos.

And now Niantic is saying they’ve pulled Legendary Pokémon from cheating players. So that means Legendaries do exist, and someone’s figured out how to get them. But multiple Reddit users are still able to see the Articuno-ruled Gym on their devices. How can that be? Are they in on it? How high up does this conspiracy go?

Like all conspiracies, the answer is straight to the top:

The president’s had a Zapdos for years. YEARS.
