The life of Vince McMahon has been extraordinary: the child who grew up in a trailer park in North Carolina who would become the CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is a third generation wrestling promoter, entering into his father’s small wrestling business in 1972.
At the time, the company was a far cry from the global juggernaut it would eventually become under McMahon’s leadership. McMahon’s father ran a mainly regional operation that would hold monthly wrestling events, largely in the North East of the United States – back then wrestling was essentially made up of regional promoters that kept pretty much to their own territories.
All of this changed, though, when Vince McMahon Jr. bought his father’s company 10 years later in 1982.
