Halloween is only a couple months away, and if you’re one of those people who likes pop culture-inspired costume, OR you want to know which costumes will be hot this year so you can avoid looking like 30 percent of the population, scroll down to check out the looks you’re guaranteed to see over and over again this year!

Pokémon Go Players

This is a pretty easy costume to put together from things you already own or can buy from Target, and since you’ll already be spending Halloween night walking around your neighborhood playing Pokémon Go, you might as well dress the part!!

Harley Quinn and The Joker

Despite its inspiration, Suicide Squad, being a crappy movie, Harley Quinn will be the basic bitch costume of 2016. While Jared Leto’s Joker is only fun because of the hair and purple trench coat, there will still be hundreds — nay, thousands! — of bros will be dressing like him to get all the Harley Quinns to take pictures and flirt with them. You have to admit, it’s not the worst tactic. (It is).

The Kids from Stranger Things

Perfect for friend groups where you have one kid with a buzzcut!

Aaaaahhh! This show is the best and the kids are the best and I love the idea of a bunch of adult-versions of Dustins running around on Halloween night because *dreamy*. Eleven is also a cool and unique costume that can be done with the whole Sinead O’Connor buzz cut, or the much safer blonde wig version. The cool thing about this group costume is that it’s super simple to put together. The uncool thing about this group costume is that so hipsters are going to make it too popular and ruin it 🙁

Deadpool

Deadpool was the breakout hit of the summer, and there will surely be many running around in red latex come Halloween night because of it! The only downside of this costume is that there aren’t many decent versions of it out there, and to really pull it off, you’ve gotta wear a full-face mask all night. But girls love Ryan Reynolds so much that even if you just *remind* them of him, you’re bound to get a flock of cute girls running to you. And this costume gives you permission to pretty much be as witty and inappropriate (without being creepy) as you want at all times, so bonus!

The characters from Sausage Party

The characters from Sausage Party have unique characteristics, like little hands and eyes and mouths, so you can’t just wear that old hotdog costume and expect people to get it. You can, however, alter a basic food costume to fit the characters if you either have some basic sewing skills. The other option is to buy a more legit costume from a wholesale place like the one pictured above, because they have the ability to dance a thin line with copyright law!

Star Wars (Rey, Poe, Kylo Ren, Stormtroopers, etc.)

Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out last year, but it missed the whole Halloween train since it came out in December. That won’t stop hardcore fans from honoring the revamped franchise this year, though! There are quite a few characters to dress up as from the Star Wars universe, but if you can get 100 people to sign up to wear a Stormtrooper costume and walk the neighborhoods in military-style fashion, you will win Halloween 2016 and the internet for at least a week.
