Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey were, of course, based on Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. But Meyer’s infamous vampire novel was based off of a literally work in its own right — Meyer is a huge Jane Austen fan and based “Twilight” on “Pride and Prejudice”, with Edward and Bella standing in for Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy.
