Over the past few weeks, United Airlines has had to endure PR disaster after PR disaster. In March, the airline drew heavy criticism for stopping two teenage girls from boarding one of their flights after deeming leggings to be inappropriate attire. April was dominated by the viral video of 69-year-old Doctor Dao being dragged screaming and bleeding from another United Airlines flight, and on top of that, the death of Simon, a giant rabbit who was set to become the biggest in the world, gave the airliner yet more ill will.
One company that might look to benefit from United Airlines’ nightmare 2017 so far is their main competitor in the United States, Delta Airlines, but it now appears that it’s their turn to manage a potential public relations snafu. Similar to United Airlines before them, Delta Airlines has some explaining to do after a family was ejected from an overbooked Delta flight when they refused to give up one of their seats on the plane.
