Today EW confirmed that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will feature an appearance from Star Wars original trilogy’s original antagonist, Darth Vader. And I say thank god. Do you remember how Darth Vader, the imposing, all-powerful, Force monster of the original Star Wars trilogy, went out? Or have you, like me, pushed it from your memory because it was so disappointing? Remember, one of the most iconic and terrifying villains of all time went out blubbering with his baby boy:

James Earl Jones will be back to provide Vader’s voice in the sorta-prequel-sorta-standalone film, with “a variety of large-framed performers” performing in the black mask and cape. Ideally, those giant individuals will be looming monsters, with the ability to strike fear into even the bravest of heroes with just their physical presence. Lucas films would do well to look at a guy like Kane Hodder, who played Jason in four of the Friday the 13th movies:

In any event, isn’t this a dope time to be alive?! We’re going to spend more time with Darth Vader! His story was supposed to be over, but now we get more! It’s like having your grandfather who died when you were 11 return from the grave to see what kind of man you’ve become! (Except if Darth Vader did come back to see what kind of man his grandson had become, I don’t know if he’d be super stoked. )
