A chilling TripAdvisor post written in April has revealed that concert-goers had grave concerns about the security checks in Manchester Arena weeks prior to the terrorist attack which killed 22 people and injured more than 60.
A woman slammed the lack of security in the arena, even mentioning the possibility of people coming in with weapons and bombs in their bags, just three weeks before the devastating incident.
The woman, who went by the name Anna W, expressed her concerns on the travelling site after attending an Ed Sheeran concert. She wrote:
“Went to see Ed Sheeran on Sunday 23rd April concert was great but there was no security on the door which was quite alarming. A female security person just scanned our ticket and didn’t check my bag at all. Once we got in and bought a bottle of wine the top is taken off so they r (sic) not used as missiles but no check to see if u have any type of weapon/bomb in your bag in these times of terror attacks its not good enough for the crowd or the act on stage. #needs sorting”.
Worryingly, the TripAdvisor post was far from the only complaint about the “horrendous” security in the Manchester Arena. Soon after news of the suicide bombing was released last night, previous visitors of the venue began to slam the reliability of the security on Twitter.
