'Club Penguin' Makes a Heartbreaking Announcement: It's Shutting Down

Beloved mobile and desktop game Club Penguin has abruptly announced that it will be discontinuing the OG version of the game. The company will now turn its focus to its upcoming updated mobile version of the game, Club Penguin Island. See the Club Penguin team’s statement to fans below:

The Club Penguin team also gave info about how the closure will affect current and new subscribers, but fans of the game are still deeply sad about the OG version of the game closing for good. It especially hurts because so many of us grew up playing Club Penguin since it launched over a decade ago.

OUR CHILDHOODS ARE DEAD. LONG LIVE OUR CHILDHOODS. Despite our sadness, as Club Penguin taught us, we must go forth and waddle on.
