Promposal season is in full swing, which means that teens everywhere are going to extreme lengths in order to ask their prospective dates to the prom. Handmade signs, shameless puns, even music videos — it seems as though no endeavor is too outlandish for high schoolers who are looking to sweep their paramours (or friends) off their feet.
However, the whole “promposal sign” trend involves actually having to make signs. And, while some high schoolers are inherently craft-savvy, others are … well, let’s just say they’re probably not going to become graphic designers in the very near future.
One high school student in particular has everyone scratching their heads over his promposal sign, which seems to be almost impossible to decipher.
Texas high schooler Marlen Williams recently created a special promposal sign to ask his date to the prom.
I’m almost positive that the sign reads, “You’ll run the 1, I’ll be 2. I’d love to take a shot at prom with you” (which makes sense, as Marlen also brought along a small toy basketball). However, the placement of the words on Marlen’s handmade sign has Twitter users totally confused.
WTF does that sign actually say??
Fortunately, someone finally corrected Marlen’s sign so that it’s easier to read.
FINALLY. IT MAKES SENSE NOW.
