Ariana Grande has been left devastated after a bomb exploded outside of Manchester Arena, where she was performing on Monday night. The 23-year-old was reportedly backstage, having just finished the show, when the bomb exploded in the foyer of the 21,000 capacity arena.
The pop star remains inconsolable according to reports, and speculation is mounting on social media that Grande may have been taken to hospital, although this is unconfirmed. Sources in contact with the singer told TMZ: “Ariana is devastated that young people who came for a good time are now lying dead and injured.”
Grande, who left the venue unhurt, tweeted shortly after the event that she was “broken” by the incident. She also expressed her sadness and speechlessness at the violence that had occurred at her concert.
Her record label followed suit, expressing their sympathies and sending prayers to those affected. Her manager Scooter Braun also wrote in a public statement:
”We mourn the lives of children and loved ones taken by this cowardly act… We ask all of you to hold the victims, their families, and all those affected in your hearts and prayers.”
