Alec Baldwin and Donald Trump haven’t exactly been the best of friends of late.
The 45th President of the United States hasn’t been especially shy in airing his less than complimentary views of Saturday Night Live, using his favourite communicative medium, Twitter, to vent his ire toward the late night sketch show that has garnered much attention since turning its sights on the Trump campaign and, latterly, administration.
Admittedly, Baldwin’s impersonation of the President isn’t exactly complimentary; puckered lips and a rather crude wig have done little to endear the actor to Donald Trump, who criticised the show more widely in a now famous tweet that read “.@NBCNews is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!”
The episode he was referring to had aired the night before, in which Baldwin carried off the President to comic effect in recreating Trump’s first press conference as President-elect.
