Accidents caused by distracting cellphone use are on the rise and Japan is no exception. So Japanese wireless service provider NTT DoCoMo created this awesome video to warn their customers about the dangers of texting while walking, one of the major causes of cellphone-related accidents.

Entitled ‘Samurai Smartphone Parade’, what makes this video so awesome is that, instead of showing contemporary people exhibiting poor judgement with their phones, it’s set in Japan’s feudal Edo period and features a Daimyo (warlord) and his entourage making their way through town, each with a smartphone in hand, but that’s only the beginning:

The moral of this story is: don’t walk and text because ninja might kill you.
