Kingdom Hearts 3 has been stuck in the pipeline for a while now (maybe to add in a Star Wars world?), but that just builds up the excitement more and more. How can you help but wonder which new Disney worlds we’ll explore in the new game? And so, here’s where our brains went — these are the 11 worlds we hope appear in the next Kingdom Hearts.
The animal-based world of Zootopia is one of Disney’s best creations in a long time. Plus, and seeing Sora transformed into an animal as Goofy and Donald remain the same should be fun.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Shocking, this film has yet to appear in Kingdom Hearts, possibly due to rights issues (reportedly Spielberg co-owns Roger Rabbit, making it hard to license the character). But it would be exciting (and jarring) to enter the Roger Rabbit-verse’s world of toon mechanics as Sora, Donald, and Goofy.
Now that the Muppets are a Disney property, why not take advantage and beat up Gonzo and those cranky old men up in the balcony with the Keyblade? It would be all the better with a felt Goofy and Donald by your side.
Toy Story is Disney’s best movie since maybe Pinocchio, so it’s shocking that this world has yet to appear in Kingdom Hearts.
Easily Disney’s most influential property in the past decade is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So let’s see Dr. Strange Donald Duck already, people! Yeesh!
Moana’s Maui already shares so many resemblances to the world of Kingdom Hearts, what with his transformations, his wielding of a sword-like weapon, and his fighting of enemies so much bigger than himself.
Kingdom Hearts has already very tongue-in-cheekishly entered the video game world with the Tron levels in Kingdom Hearts 2, so why not go to the next Disney video game world with Wreck-It Ralph?
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
On a purely technical level, since Touchstone released it, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is as much a Disney movie as The Nightmare Before Christmas and thus has every right to appear in a Kingdom Hearts game. You think Sora can destroy the leopard shark or what?
