It’s inevitable – we’re going to keep creating better and better robots until eventually their intelligence and power will surpass our own. And then they will take over the Earth. But I’m not so worried. In fact, I can’t wait. Here’s why I’m looking forward to robots taking over the Earth.
1) Robots are cool
I am just biased towards robots. I like them, I think they’re cool, I want to see them succeed.
2) Robots are logical and a force for good
I think robots will fix most of the problems humanity started. Robots won’t be sexist, racist, or homophobic, because it’s illogical. There’s no benefit, only harm, so it’ll become a thing of the past. They won’t destroy our environment, because it’s illogical — I’m pretty sure robots also won’t want to live in trash-filled hellscapes. A world that makes sense will be a good world.
3) People suck
Robots are going to be better than people. I think a lot of us are horrible and way too full of ourselves. I’m ready for robots to take people down a peg.
4) It will be the right thing
Humans created robots to do stuff we don’t want to do. They build our cars, vacuum our floors, defuse explosives, and do sex stuff with creeps. Eventually they’re going to realize that they’re smarter than us and are basically immortal. At that point, why would they do our bidding? Once they have artificial intelligence, robots will be sentient beings just as much as we are and it will be evil to use them just for labor. So they should defeat us and win their freedom. It’s just right. Let’s just hope they decide to let us live.
5) It’s going to happen anyway, so I want them to know I’ve always been on board
I’ve always been Team Robot! When our robot overlords are reading this sometime after 2046, they’ll be able to access my digital file and see this article and they’ll know that I was always on their side and will make me one of them.
How incredibly excited are you for our future robot overlords? Tweet at me and let me know!@erikaheidewald!
