Anxiety disorders are one of the most common types of mental illnesses in the United States, affecting approximately 40 million adults aged 18 and older. Incredibly, this number equates to a whopping 18 per cent of the population. An even higher percentage go undiagnosed, and thus it’s impossible to calculate the true extent of children and adults suffering in silence with crippling anxiety.

Thankfully, as mental illness becomes a much less of a taboo topic, more and more people are able to discuss their own experiences living with anxiety. Artist Pranita Kocharekar is  one such person.
