NASA has provided more than enough fuel to the fire of conspiracy theorists’ imaginations, literally from the moment they first put Neil Armstrong on the moon to now.
Indeed, it was only a couple of weeks ago that some mysterious objects were seen on a NASA live feed of the International Space Station that ignited debate over whether they could be proof of alien life forms benignly cruising past the ISS. The fact that the feed appeared to mysteriously cut-out just as the last object went zooming past was not lost on excited commentators either, who presumably thought that NASA was effectively in damage limitation mode at that point.
Then there came the astonishing announcement that the organisation had actually found a whole new solar system, which has been named TRAPPIST-1, in which life may have evolved on at least three planets that are 39 light years away from Earth.
It seems that now, NASA has made another exciting discovery, though this time a little closer to home.
